Sorry guys, I need to blow some steam off. It's hard to take a serious interest when you have a completely incompetent front office. I might post something in the coming few weeks, but nothing for a while.
In the mean time, enjoy the worst team in the Majors.

i respect you so much keith. take all the time you need. its like i always say myself. i'm not a royals fan because i root for the name on the front of the jersey and the players that go out on that field. As a fan i am demanding a competent front office as well. lately its been a roller coaster ride. great drafts, piss poor trades.
Yeah I understand completely.
I feel the same, the Yuniesky Betancourt trade is pretty soul-crushing. Thanks for the work you've done so far though
Man I'm so glad I took last week of from this team or I'd be in the same boat when I first heard the news I was literally trembling with anger and disappointment. Take as much time as you need your not the first guy who needs a break from this miserable team.
Ugh. . .I'm thinking about swearing them off for the rest of the season-no watching games, no internet surfing, nothing. So angry right now. I already knew that it's kind of a waste of time to follow the Royals so closely, but I enjoy it too much. When they do stuff like this really makes ME feel like an idiot for spending so much time being a fan, and that just increases my rage exponentially.
we are all sadomasochists at heart, or why else would we follow this miserable organization?
Jon
Lifelong M's fan here. Just wanted to mention, we've had an unbelievable string of bad signings and trades, up until this one. Each time we'd skip out on a Shin Choo Soo, a Derek Lowe, or an Adam Jones, I swore to never watch the club again. Of course I hate- hating front offices, so I come back and bitch all summer, and pull my hair out watching the front office blunders play themselves out on the field.
That being said, I would say with some confidence that even though I became exasperated with Yuni due to his seemingly nonchalant approach and lack of effort, he is a likeable guy, and has come up with clutch hit after clutch hit for the Ms. Lots of game winning doubles over the last two years.
If nothing else, he'll be a minor upgrade, and with the Ms taking a hit on the salary, there won't be a ton of financial obligation.
Good luck here, and good luck on a Future GM. Baseball life for me was at all time low during the Bill Bavasi days, but a new/ good GM can turn it around very quickly for y'all.
I wouldn't call the Royals the worst team in the majors. Betancourt will fit in. Hitting .250, and will probably do better than half of our regular lineup anyways.
Not like we gave up much anyways.
Wow, Tyson, you're full of it. I'm another M's lifer, and this is unquestionably a huge win for us. He's a contact hitter who refuses to take walks and is an absolute slug at the most important position in baseball. Need more proof: check out http://ussmariner.com/ today.
Royals fans: I'm sorry. This deal will be nothing other than an abysmal failure. But, hey, at least you guys signed Willie Bloomquist. Seriously, though, I was watching a front office that was actually worse than KC's last year. This year, we're trading away guys like Betancourt and signing guys like Branyan. I guess this is my pep talk. Things can turn around quickly; you just have to hope you get a GM who understands baseball in the 21st Century.
I hear ya man. I'll probably take some time off as well. Maybe I'll watch the return of Kila if that day ever comes
oh grow up. not blogging because you don't like a trade? what a @#$#@ move.
Cedeno you just said the exact same thing as me, minus the admission that yuni is a nice guy and has come up with some big clutch hits over the last two years...yet I'm full of it. Ok smart guy.
If yuni is not an upgrade over Tony pena, then he has no place in The majors.
You grow up Anonymous your not even man (or woman or boy or girl) enough to show your name. I wonder how much you follow the team ? Were's your blog of Royals prospects ?
You got nothing so shut up.
As a "Natinals" fan, I must dispute your claim to be the worst team in the majors. This years Nationals are worse than the early 70s Rangers.

Hi Keith. Just wanted to drop a note to tell you that you do a great job with this blog. Really appreciate your efforts. I'm a lifelong Royals fan, and man has it been tough for the last couple of decades. Better days will come, though. Hang in there and thanks again for your good work here.
I' don't blame you. Fuck this team.
Again, I dispute your claim that the Royals are the worst team in the majors. I give you my Nationals first inning on Saturday. Five of the first Six hitters hit safely, yet only two runs score. Five hits, Six batters, no triple play. I give you our Sunday game, where reliever Tyler Clippard balks in a run attempting an intentional walk.

(If you were a Nationals fan, wouldn't you be anonymous, too?)
You have been through some awful trades and draft picks in the last few years. Dye, Damon, Beltran, Colt, Dee Brown. After all that you are still a fan, and do a great blog. So now because the team made one or two trades you dont agree with you are going to give them up? Come on man if you stuck by this team through some o theother moves you can stick with them through this one.
well i do appreciate the outpouring of support from most of these posts. my post was a bit kneejerk, i know, i'll probably try and do something next weekend if i can think of a good topic. the 3 days after i found out about the dumbest trade ever where i did not follow the royals AT ALL was enough for me to blow off some steam.
-yes i do know the Royals aren't the worst team in the league. i was venting. not all is bad for the Nats though, after all, this is basically the best time ever to be the worst team in the league. running into possibly the two greatest draft prospects of all time two years in a row won't hurt at all.
-and NO I am not giving up on the team i pour my heart in to. i am not rob f'ing neyer (who, when the Royals are good again one day whether that's in 2 years, 5 years or 20 years will come back saying he's been a fan all along) who completely gives up. i will still follow this team like it's going out of style.
You should do a post on NW Ark. They play in Springfield starting Thursday.
i was thinking about doing a post on prospects whose stock is way up. that would obviously include a couple players who are currently on the Naturals.
